Job Overview:

An ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting an organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and communication systems. They ensure the seamless operation of ICT systems to support business operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. ICT System Administration:

    • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and network devices.
    • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and IT resources.
  2. Network Management:

    • Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network systems.
    • Implement security measures to protect network infrastructure.
    • Support VPNs and remote connectivity for users.
  3. Technical Support:

    • Provide technical assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Resolve IT support tickets and document solutions.
    • Train users on IT tools and cybersecurity best practices.
  4. System Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Monitor ICT systems for performance, security threats, and resource utilization.
    • Perform upgrades, patches, and backups regularly.
  5. Documentation and Asset Management:

    • Maintain IT asset inventory, licenses, and system documentation.
    • Prepare performance and compliance reports.

Daily Tasks:

  • Monitor the health and security of servers, networks, and devices.
  • Respond to and resolve IT-related support requests.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and antivirus scans.
  • Back up data and validate recovery processes.
  • Train staff on the use of IT systems and communication tools.

Skills:

1. Computer Skills:

  • Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux, and macOS.
  • Networking Tools: Cisco networking, VPN, DHCP, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Productivity Tools: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SharePoint.
  • Backup and Recovery: Veeam, Commvault, and cloud storage tools.

2. Language Skills:

  • Proficient in English for effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prepare IT guides, reports, and documentation.

3. Job Technical (Functional) Skills:

  • System installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Network monitoring, configuration, and issue resolution.
  • IT security management (antivirus, firewalls, encryption).
  • Data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

4. Interpersonal Skills:

  • Communication: Ability to assist and train non-technical users.
  • Problem-Solving: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.

Job Specifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–4 years in ICT support, administration, or related roles.
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA A+ or Network+ (preferred)
    • Cisco CCNA or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (desirable).

Work Environment:
